As I shared last week, the first step in shifting your relationship is to become aware of the energy that you’re sharing with your partner. You do this by paying attention to your actions, your tone of voice, your thoughts and feelings when you’re with your partner and when you’re apart.
It’s likely if you’ve been paying attention that you’ve uncovered some of your own negative patterns. Don’t worry – this is normal. We all have them!
The good news is that once you’re aware of what YOU are contributing, you can choose something different.
So, what do you do now? How do you change?
The simplest way to change your patterns is to change your focus. Simply put, what you focus on expands.
This week, I invite you to experiment with this:
Focus on the positive. Think about what works in your relationship. Make a list of what you’re grateful for about your partner. Tell him thank you when he does something you like. Let her know what you love and appreciate about her. Do this every day this week.
When you change your thoughts from frustration to appreciation, your emotions and your energy naturally change too. This is how you raise your relationship vibe.
