I can't believe I said yes to this!

I just spent a week in Michigan - first for a business retreat, then for a birthday trip with my husband.
The week was all about receiving after a long season of caretaking for others.
During the business retreat, I received true VIP treatment — a stay in the most beautiful setting selected just for me, nourishing meals and treats curated by an amazing chef, and guidance from two wise and beautiful souls focused on helping me expand the impact of my soul’s work in the world and the energy to hold it. There was even a surprise birthday celebration with delicious gluten-free cake and an incredible two-hour treatment that included an aromatherapy massage, Reiki cleanse, and sound bath!
During the trip with my husband, I received stays at beautiful hotels, glorious weather, a perfect hike, breathtaking fall foliage, a winery outing, stunning views of trees and lakes, two incredible birthday dinners, another massage‼️, a drive through the magical Tunnel of Trees, and stops at farms, pumpkin patches, coffee shops and picturesque towns.
There were magical moments throughout the week — like my wise driver talking about energy and how we create our experiences from our vibration🤯, running into a meditation teacher I follow on Instagram and sharing a sweet connection🩷, sitting next to a newly engaged couple at dinner and secretly buying their meal, only to later receive a ride from our waiter’s fiancée (he was so moved by our gesture he wanted to give back).🤗
It was difficult to say yes to this week. It felt like too much. Life was busy and chaotic, and I felt so much anxiety before leaving.
I literally had to expand my capacity to receive all of this beauty and magic.
Now I’m headed home feeling filled up, grounded, open, and ready to share this energy with the people in my life.
I recently heard that abundance is the balance of giving and receiving. This feels so true. And my goodness, what an abundant life.💫
Sometimes receiving can feel uncomfortable - especially if you're used to being the one who gives.
What might it look like for you to open to receiving this week? Could you allow yourself to receive… a compliment? A hug? A moment of stillness? A break from that inner critic?
Here's to receiving it all.💛
Love,
Mendy
