The end of summer and beginning of the school year proved to be another challenging chapter of this year. I found myself feeling stressed, anxious, exhausted and out of alignment. Sometimes when we’re struggling, it can be more difficult to choose the practices that we know will have a positive impact on us.
My personal pattern is to tune out during difficult times. To disconnect from myself. To get lost in distractions such as scrolling on my phone and watching Netflix. Which then adds to my feeling of disconnection, discomfort and depletion.
Thankfully, I do know how to turn things around quickly. In order to get back on track, I know I need to turn off the distractions and to tune back in to myself.
It always feels so good to come back to myself. And without fail, as soon as I begin taking care of my energy and filling myself back up, my outer world begins to shift as well. Problems get solved, relationships flow more smoothly, and life feels easier and more beautiful. Every single time.
